| ...one of my favorite emotions. Some of the many things that give me a great sense of satisfaction: cooking, enjoying and cleaning up after a good meal; organizing an extremely cluttered desk; a full tank of gas; a drawer full of clean socks and underwear; a good night's sleep; a long, sweaty run; feeling sore after a vigorous hike... | | |
| I really love my job because I get to travel to great places. I just spent a couple of weeks in Bakersfield, this week I'm in Lompoc and in another week I will be in Ridgecrest. Good times! For the past 6 months or so I've been talking about bobbing my hair and donating it to Locks of Love. I finally made the appointment, so in a couple of weeks it will all be gone. I can't wait! I've had long hair for several years now, and I'm looking forward to parting with it. My parents came up to Lompoc to have dinner with me last night. After dinner we stopped at the drug store to get some candy and beef jerky for dessert. My Dad had noticed a 99 Cent Store in the same shopping center earlier that evening, and he was itching to check it out. It has been very cold in Lompoc, so he suggested I look for some gloves at the 99 Cent Store. We went in, and I found not only gloves, but a scarf as well! I got 2 pairs of gloves, a scarf, 2 boxes of Nerds and a box of Lemonheads, all for $4! I have to admit, it's always fun to see what treasures you can find at the 99 Cent Store. | | |
| Alright, alright. My car isn't the greatest. But I still don't see why parking attendants feel the need to make fun of it. I have been working in downtown L.A. this week, and yesterday when I was pulling into the parking garage, the attendant stopped me and said, "don't you think it's about time to get a new car?" I gave him a sour smile and drove off. I could have come back with plenty of clever remarks, such as, "don't you think it's about time to get a new job?", but I was too frazzled at the moment. That is the second parking attendant that has criticized my car in the past few months. Maybe it's because so many people in L.A. drive such nice cars? But come on! | | |
| Lately I have had a really hard time getting to sleep because my mind is racing with all of the things I have to do for work. Thus the late night post.
Do you ever get to that point where you have been trying so hard to get to sleep, and you can finally feel yourself drifting off, and you start getting anxious because you really hope you will get to sleep but you start worrying that it's just too good to be true? And then, you are wide awake once again. Hehe. So sad.
When I was in junior high, I used to listen to the Cranberries every night to help me fall asleep. It worked pretty well back then. Maybe it will work tonight... | | |
| This past weekend I joined my sisters and a few friends for a Girls' Weekend up in San Luis Obispo, complete with wine tasting, an abundance of good food, lots of girl talk and a mineral spa soak. We had a great time and it definitely rejuvenated my spirits. Lately, work has been bumming me out big time, so it was nice to leave everything behind and forget about work for a couple days. Now, I have to focus and get all my work done in the next few weeks, so I can go to Hawaii with no worries (except my looming last chance at passing FAR before my other sections start expiring). It can be done, I know it! | | |
